I know, I know I’ve been so busy the past time, actually I was so lazy to open a window and start posting something :P For the past months I’ve been working as a production coordinator at Caviar for nearly a year, I also produced several TV Commercials and Photoshoots. A few months ago I focused entirely on my studies at Animation Mentor, studying 3D Animation was for a long time a dream to me, and thanks to God I’m realizing this dream now, I started my studies on September 2008 and its considered a 18-months Diploma program on character Animation. Consisting of 6 classes, the pace gradually increases on each class. Recently I finished Class 1 : Basic Foundations on December 19th 2008, and I must say it was by far the best experience ever ! Many thanks to my mentor and all my classmates who not only supported me but also were a part in making my experience an enjoyable one.
This is my showreel for Class 1, its a collection of my assignments from my first class at Animation Mentor, the online Animation school. My mentor was Jon Collins who worked at ILM, Blue Sky, Pixar, where he worked on Pixar’s Finding Nemo and Wall-E, and right now he’s animating on the upcoming movie “UP”.

And to those who are new to animation, this was all done on a frame-by-frame basis, it takes time but its fun in the end :)

What software do you use?
Maya, but the course is independent on the software, anything can work, as long as there is a graph editor and keyframing :D
